Ruth Abusch-Magder Director of the Joint Commission for Sustaining Rabbinic Education Graduate of Cohort 25, Mandel Jerusalem Fellows
Ruth Abusch-Magder was born in Rochester, New York. She received rabbinic ordination from HUC-JIR and a PhD from Yale in Jewish history. Ruth has served in a variety of rabbinic positions and as a teacher at Yale and Brandeis. She has authored numerous academic publications and is the recipient of a several prestigious awards, scholarships and fellowships. Her work at MJF focused on the development of models of community education for Reform synagogues in North America. She returned to Cincinnati where she is now the Director of the Joint Commission for Sustaining Rabbinic Education.
