The month of June was especially intensive for the fellows of the Mandel School for Educational Leadership and the Mandel Jerusalem Fellows programs as they presented their individual projects.
After a long period of individual and group study, research, discovery, discussion, and observation, the fellows of the Mandel School for Educational Leadership presented their individual projects to their peers, their tutors, experts in the field, and the faculty of the Mandel Leadership Institute. The atmosphere during the presentations was open and attentive. Fellows, faculty members, and guests participated in brainstorming sessions during which they proposed clarifications and asked questions, giving the fellows a wealth of new ideas on how to improve and refine their projects. Each Mandel Jerusalem Fellow devoted much of the year to developing an individual project proposed as part of the application process. The projects addressed important challenges in Jewish education and community, affording an opportunity to examine the relationship between theory and practice as well as the role of vision in Jewish educational leadership. The process culminated with the final presentations during which the fellows presented their year’s work to peers, Mandel faculty and colleagues from their professional world.
