New Program: “The Senior Civil Service Program for Social and Economic Affairs”

The Senior Civil Service program of the Mandel Leadership Institute in partnership with the Ministry for Welfare and Social Services has initiated a new program for senior civil servants, which will address social and economic aspects of the Ministry’s work.

The goal of the program is to discuss various features of Ministry activities which relate to the roles and activities of other government offices, local government, the non-profit organizations and the business sector. The program aspires to broaden the scope of knowledge of the ministry's senior management regarding the link between welfare and economic factors.

During the program, participants will learn about and analyze different economic domains in the fields of public health, education, housing, and immigrant absorption, with a special emphasis on the subject of social security as a foundation stone of the welfare state.

The program is of great significance in terms of strategic planning processes in the ministry and due to some of the social implications learned in the Second Lebanon War. Dealing with macro economic and social processes promotes the learning and understanding concerning spheres of Ministry activity and target populations.
