Construction Begins on the Mandel Center for the Humanities at Brandeis University

By building the Mandel Center for the Humanities, Brandies University hopes to create a place to bring together diverse fields of humanistic inquiry under one roof. The four-story building will feature rooms and spaces for classes as well seminars, gatherings and other events. The ceremonial groundbreaking for the Center took place in September 2008. Work on utilities to serve the Mandel Humanities Center began in February 2009, and excavation for footings and foundations for the Center began in mid-June 2009. The Center is expected to be complete in fall 2010.
